How much does STEPS cost?
The STEPS course costs $200 and is covered by some health insurance plans. Cost includes the course , S.T.E.P.S. manual, prize incentives, and follow-up S.T.E.P.S. activities. Contact your healthcare provider or insurance company for more information on coverage. Scholarship funding is available so cost should not be an issue.
STEPS is a 12-week program offered three times a year. There are fall, winter, and spring courses. Students are evaluated when they begin the program and at the end of the course. They are re-evaluated 6 months and 1 year after the program to determine if they have maintained the changes they learned in STEPS. The YMCA has more information on STEPS follow-up programs.
